As the holiday season winds down we find our food shelf as busy as ever. With that said, we do rely upon donations to keep the shelves filled with food items for those in need. Things that may not come to mind, but are helpful include mayo, ketchup, sugar, salt, and baking items such as mixes, and always coffee. Other important non-food items are toilet paper, toothpaste, deodorant and shampoo. We also introduced a new section “Kids Food Place”, just for school age children. This space has been successful.
Our “Community Cares” program offered several meals this past year. We have some faithful local sponsors that include the Ludlow Baptist Church, United Church of Ludlow, Church of Annunciation, Ludlow and Holy Name of Mary, Proctorsville. The meals are free and offered to all community members. Each was a huge success! All of this outpouring is a genuine tribute to the spirit of giving within our community.
With New Year wishes for good health and plenty of nourishing food, please help to share the news to those less fortunate that our food shelf is here for residents of Ludlow, Cavendish, Proctorsville, Mt. Holly, Belmont and Plymouth. We are open Monday-Friday from 10 AM-3 PM.
