News from Black River Good Neighbor Services
September has arrived with so much going on and coming up! First and foremost is our HUGE FALL RUMMAGE SALE on September 23th and September 24th at Fletcher Farm. An annual event that brings in so many folks from near and far, this is a rummage sale not to be missed! There will be a huge selection of fall and winter clothing for the entire family, a boutique, shoes, boots, winter sports wear, active wear, housewares, books, a Christmas room and a very popular bake sale as well as a grill for the hotdog enthusiasts.
A heads up, on Thursday, October 6th, Black River Good Neighbor Services is offering a free Community Lunch at the Ludlow Community Center Cafeteria at noon. This will be a homestyle harvest meal of baked ham, scalloped potatoes, brown bread, broccoli-cheese casserole, candied yams, coleslaw, tossed salad, apple crisp and ice cream. Well-known chef/caterer, Vicki Mastroianni will be in the kitchen and servers and helpers are RSVP Volunteers. Please spread the word and come on down for a delicious, home-cooked meal.
We saw a very busy and active Back To School program this year and want to share our sincere thanks for some very generous folks who donated back packs, school supplies and financial support of this important program.
As always, with the oncoming cooler, fall-like weather, shelves and racks at the Thrift Store are full of weather ready clothing. And, Moose and Bear items are slowly creeping in as well! Don’t forget to visit our Furniture Store at 105 Main Street for some great bargains with ever-changing inventory. Always a fun trip.
Please, do continue to help spread the word that our food shelf is full and ready for anyone in need. We are a confidential, phone call away at 802-228-3663 and open Monday - Friday from 10 AM – 3 PM. We also offer financial assistance, so please give us a call.
